IBAN

International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is the global standard for identifying all bank accounts (excluding credit cards). It facilitates the automatic processing of money transfers, and improves the speed and accuracy of payment transactions.

If you wish to make payments from your Noor Bank account to any account in any other bank in the UAE, you need to provide the beneficiary’s IBAN. Likewise, if you wish to receive money into your Noor Bank account – from the UAE or elsewhere in the world – you need to provide the remitters with your IBAN.

For more details, please read IBAN FAQs

How to get your IBAN

  • Visit Noor Bank (see list of branches)
  • Log in to your account through Internet Banking
  • Contact your Relationship Manager
  • Generate your IBAN through our online IBAN generator

IBAN in the UAE

Effective 15 June 2012, and as per guidelines from the Central Bank of UAE, all inward payments received from international parties for credit into a customer account held with Noor Bank should contain the IBAN.

Any payment received without IBAN may be returned to the remitting bank and is subject to additional processing fee from the remitted amount.

Please communicate your IBAN to all remitting parties to avoid non-processing of inward transactions and deduction of charges.

IBAN & Transaction Type Code

The Central Bank of UAE’S enhanced local electronic funds transfer system (UAEFTS) is designed to improve payment and returns processing times for electronic payments within the UAE.

The following apply to all domestic UAE Dirham (AED) payment instructions processed via your Noor Bank accounts

  • IBAN was implemented on November 19, 2011, with a grace period ending on April 12, 2012. Therefore, effective April 14 2012, all domestic payment instructions are required to contain an IBAN in the beneficiary account number. Any payment instructions including WPS payments submitted without IBAN, with the exception of credit card payments, are subject to rejection by the UAEFTS.
  • All customers are required to provide a valid Transaction Type Code (listed below) to allow banks to accept and process payment instructions. Any payment instruction submitted to Noor Bank without a valid Transaction Type Code may be rejected, OR delayed. Salaries processed via The Wages Protection System (WPS) do not require a Transaction Type Code.
  • If you have standing orders/instructions for effecting payments in future, you also need to amend the same, by providing a valid Transaction Type Code and IBAN equivalent for the beneficiary account.
  • Please be advised that credit to all accounts will be affected, solely based on the beneficiary IBAN.
